Surath is a Qualified CA and a Cost Accountant Currently Heading the Internal Audit and Risk Assurance vertical at Dalmia Bharat Group having interests in Cement, Sugar, Power & Refractory segments and has a turnover of in excess of Rs. 12000 Cr.

He has been with Dalmia Bharat Group since 2008 where he has been instrumental is setting up the Risk management function and scaling it up to match the expansion of the group, before which he had spent a decade with Sony India Ltd and also a 5-year stint with Philips India.

In Dalmia he is part of the Core leadership team and also Head the Ethics Committee of the Group, a team of professionals with diverse Educational & Industry background working under him takes care of the Internal Audit, ERM & Ethics violations of the group that either comes to them as part of the Internal Audit output or from a group whistle blower platform that is maintained by KPMG.

Surath has handled and led several investigative & forensic audit assignments during his career span and taken appropriate decisions to clean up any Ethics Violations by any internal or internal stakeholder against the group.

In Sony he has worked in various senior level roles from controllership to Global Reporting signing off from there as Head of Internal Audit.

Over his professional career he has been able to contribute sustainable results for the organizations in the field of Controllership, Finance, Risk Assurance, ERP Implementation ,Fraud Investigations.

Surath is a regular contributor & speaker in various Industry forums like ICAI, IIA , ICMA , Assocham etc. and believes in interactive learning through knowledge sharing .
